Mrs. Vessie Jane Gayler, 85, wife of Sylvester R. Gayler died at 9 o'clock Friday morning at her home, one mile east of here on US Highway 136. Born May 17, 1866, near Mellott, Mrs. Gayler was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Parsons. She married Sylvester R. Gayler of Hillsboro Dec 28, 1887. She was a member of the First Christian Church. She came here with her husband 30 years ago. Surviving besides the husband are two daughters, Mrs. Dona Graam of Terre Haute and Miss Glee Gayler, a teacher in the Indianapolis schools and a half brother, Guy Auter of Mellott. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 Sunday afternoon at Hunt & Son Funeral Home. Burial at Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. Rev. Paul Million will be the officiating minister.
